Minnie Mouse on the Island of Castaway Cay

I made friends with Minnie Mouse all day on the Island of Castaway Cay. She is dressed up in her bathing suit. The second photo is of my friend Tym who drives the pargo for Minnie. The third photo is my friend Morgan who greets Minnie on the island. The last two photos are the dance party that happens at Gazebo 1 on the island. Minnie loves to dance to "Surfin' USA" and a twist on the song "Mambo #5" that sings about our favorite Disney characters!

Captain Mickey

I made friends with Captain Mickey as he greets the Platinum Card Guests at a special gathering and he takes a stroll on deck 4.

Minnie Mouse

Here are some photos of when I made friends with Pirate Minnie and Princess Minnie.

More Character Photos

In the first photo there I am being silly with my good friend Goofy. The second photo is a shoot we did for stock photos. Those are the photos the guests can buy at "Shutters" our official photo gallery area where all the professional photos are sold. I did not make friends with anyone in this photo shoot. The third photo is me and my friend Kelly-Marie hanging out with Donald Duck up on deck 12.

Traditional Outfits

The characters have their traditional outfits on board, but they have so many other outfits that they rarely get to wear their traditionals. There is only one program in the children's club titled "Puzzle Playtime" that they are able to wear their traditionals! Don't they look so cute!? I made friends with Mickey, Minnie and Donald in these photos.

Donald Duck Rides the Aquaduck!

Admiral Donald Duck was able to ride the Aquaduck on our inaugural cruise. I made friends with Daisy Duck and she was there to support and watch her man ride the duck!!!

Famous People I Have Met

There have been two famous people I have met so far:

On February 5, 2011 Tiger Wood's ex wife Elin was sailing at the beginning of February with her kids and some other woman with a little girl. The other woman may have been her sister or maybe just a friend; we can call her Jane. It was Jane's daughter's birthday and she wanted a special meet and greet with Minnie Mouse. I made friends with Minnie for this special meet and greet in which they were all present for. It was cute because it was a surprise for the birthday girl. Elin is gorgeous.

On Thursday Feb 10th I was part of a filming for America's Funniest Home Videos. Apparently they have done filming for the show on the ship before. Tom Bergeron is the host and he was in the filming we did with the characters. I made friends with Minnie. He was nice to all of us and quite funny. The clip starts off with him sleeping on a couch and he is meant to be dreaming. He wakes up and explains the dream he had and all the characters were in it and the characters pop out and he says "you were there!" It was cute.

Here are some photos from Deck 11 at night.

Into the Swing of Things

The Disney Dream is now into its regular swing of things, running our official schedule of cruises. We have 3 and 4 day cruises. We port in Nassau, The Bahamas and Castaway Cay (Disney's private island) every cruise. On the 4 day cruise we have one day just at sea. Our schedule is much more consistent now and therefore much less hectic. The past couple months have been very chaotic with press, inaugural cruises and working all the kinks out, so it's nice to have a more regular schedule. We have a lot more guests! The ship is filled with excited faces and lots and lots of children!

One of our cast members left this contract early about a week ago. I am her understudy in our character pirate show up on deck on pirate night, so now I stand in for her in that show. It's titled "Mickey's Pirates of the Carribean". It's a fun show featuring almost all of the VIP characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy. I make friends with Minnie in that show. Pictures to come.

Overall things are going very well for me on the ship. Ship life is very carefree and fun; it feels like I am back in college again. We definitely have the best job on the ship in my opinion. A lot of my day usually consist of small blocks of working and many breaks in-between which is really nice. I have made so many friends to spend time with and learn from. The gym is nice and I give myself class in our hallway when I can. I am able to layout in the sun almost everyday if I want to. It's an incredible life and I am very happy to have this job.

Here are some photos of the main lobby in which we call the Atrium.
