Ciao Bella! Our first overnight in Venice, Italy was unreal. This place is so unique! We had two days there, so I was able to explore most of the city that is close to the port. The city is surrounded by the Grand Canal and there are small canals weaving all throughout the city.
The Venetian are famously known for their masks. There are shops with them all over the city.
I spent most of my time walking around to see the famous attractions in the heart of Venice. First the Rialto Bridge, which is one of the four bridges that crosses over the Grand Canal and also the oldest bridge in Venice.
Gondola rides are what they are famous for and you can find the Gondola boats everywhere. I hope to take a ride in one next time we visit.
A group of us went to Piazza San Marco for our special night in Venice for dinner. It is the principal public square and is locally known as the "Piazza", most Americans refer to it as St. Mark's Square. The lights there at night are incredible. The atmosphere is romantic and historical all at once. I feel so lucky to have stepped foot here.
Our second day in Venice was on the 4th of July. It was ironic being in another country for America’s birthday, but there were still lots of people dressed in America’s colors. I cannot wait to return to Venice, it’s gorgeous.
