DRY DOCK Barcelona

DRY DOCK has begun!
As you can see we were exhausted coming right off the ship. Frankie took a nap as soon as we checked into our hotel in Barcelona. Who can't take a nap without having some chocolates first!

Our first night there we took a walk around the town and watched other cruise ships leave the port. We missed the Disney Magic leaving for Cadiz.

The beach was very nice there.

Ali and her sister Erin were staying at the same hotel as us on the first night in Barcelona, so we all went out for a lovely meal and sangria.

In perfect height order in the above photo. Me, Erin, Ali and Frankie.

Kids of the 80's!

Here is the view from our hotel lobby in the photos above and below.

The ballet was in town!

Here is Frankie and I on our last night. It was our final meal in the Mediterranean and I was sad to leave. It may have been the best summer of my life!

DRY DOCK

DRY DOCK is a period of time where the ship goes into renovations. They call it dry dock because they take the ship out of the water to make the upgrades. The Disney Magic traveled to Cadiz, Spain for its 6-week dry dock period.

The cast of the performers was not required to be on the ship during this time so we were off contract. Most of us decided to stay in Europe to travel. I stayed in Barcelona for 2 nights, Paris for 3 nights, and then London for 4 nights. I traveled mostly with my friend Frankie and in the photo above is he and I on the day we disembarked the ship for DRY DOCK.

Here are some photos of the ship during DRY DOCK. I got these photos from friends that stayed on the ship to help with the renovations.

Cinque Terre, Italy

Cinque Terre stands for five lands or five towns in Italian. They are a group of villages not too far from our port of La Spezia. My friend Caroline and I travelled to Monterosso where the beach is gorgeous.

Ladies at the beach!

Here are some photos of the streets in this village

Palma, Mallorca, Spain

Palma de Mallorca is a the capital of the Balearic Islands of Spain. It is an island just south of Barcelona, our home port.
It was my birthday on this one day we went to this port of Spain.

Above is Ali and I in front a famous cathedral

Ali and I ate at a Hard Rock Cafe for my birthday meal.

Valetta, Malta

Malta is an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and we stopped at the country's capital Valetta. It is known for its beautiful stone buildings and its endless shopping. The main part of the city is at the top of the land of Valetta. Shopping in this city requires a lot of walking up and down steps and hills.

The photo above taken from the ship. Across the port is a street full of restaurants on the water with a great view of the Disney Magic.

Above is Janelle and I shopping for shoes. There is a large selection of wedges in Europe, which makes Janelle and I very happy ladies.

The photos above and below were taken from one of the restaurants across from the port. It was a great spot so I took my parents there when they came to Malta.

Here is Mom admiring the view of the city of Valetta before she heads back to the ship.
