DRY DOCK Paris

Je Suis á Paris!

Pete took Frankie and I on a full day of sight seeing in Paris. We saw everything in one day! It was incredible!
In the photo above I am in front of the Jardins du Trocadéro which is just Northwest of Le Tour Eiffel.

Here I am on the Avenue des Champs L'Élysée. It is one of the most exciting streets in the world! It is known for it's high class apartments and shopping!
In the center of the photo in the back is the famous monument L'Arc de Triomphe!

Here is a great shot of my boys in front of Le Tour Eiffel.

Here is our ticket to explore the top of the Eiffel Tower!

We walked up the tower until there were no more stairs to take!

Here are the boys and I making our way up! And below is what you see when you look down! Don't look at this one Mom!

The steps only take you about 3/4 of the way up. There is an elevator that takes you further up the tower. Below are the sights you see from both view points!

Below is a fun filtered photo of us Dream 1er's posing like the Eiffel Tower!

Here is Notre-Dame, the famous Cathedral of Paris.

What would this beautiful cathedral be without my famous pose!?

The interior of the cathedral was stunning. It was very traditional in design and I could sense the history with every step I took. The atmosphere was totally different coming from Sagrada Familia in Barcelona just a few days before. I am so lucky to have seen such a well known and historical place.

Next stop, Le Louvre!
The Louvre is one the largest museums in the world.

Frankie and I are posing together in the photo above. We are obviously walking on water ;)

Since we were only sight seeing for this one day, we did not go inside the museum.
The photo below is taken from a glass window in a pathway outside of the museum.

I would love to go back someday and take my time wondering through this historical monument.

The next gem we saw was Sacré-Coeur, the very famous Roman Catholic church.
It sits on the highest point in the city of Paris.
Below is the view from the other direction with the most incredible view of the city.

Just around the corner from Sacré-Coeur is Monmartre.

This area is known for being an artist holding point with famous names such as Van Gogh, Monet and Picasso.

As we walked around the square, up and coming artists were drawing and painting right on the spot.
I could only imagine being here during the times when Impressionism was happening. Before it became a tourist spot, it was where artists could come together.

We found a cute outside restaurant in the square to indulge in some authentic crépes, with Nutella.
They were to die for!

We watched day turn to night as we made our way down the hill from Montmarte and we found the next landmark,
the Moulin Rouge!

Frankie looked at me and said, "Alright Miss Kaleigh, let's do a lift! What should we do?"
We decided on a basic shoulder sit that turned out to be a fantastic photo! It is one of my favorites from the summer!
Pete posted it on instagram right away and it got 75 likes in the first half hour or some crazy number like that! Our pose was a hit! Well done Frankie!

Our last stop was back to Le Tour Eiffel to see the light show. The lights sparkle for 5 minutes on the hour, every hour, every night.
It was gorgeous! And a perfect way to end the night!

It has been a dream of mine to travel to Paris one day after learning about all these monuments in French class growing up in school.
My dream came true in just one day!
Thank you Pete Pearce for making it happen!
